This is a pre-launch tier list for ANANTA’s confirmed playable characters. Because the game has not released, no one — including us — has real damage numbers, scaling curves, or team synergy data. Tier lists that claim otherwise are guessing.
So we are ranking on something we can actually measure today: how much we know about each character, and how distinctive their kit looks from public material. This is more useful pre-launch than a fake meta tier list, and we will rebuild it on damage tiers once the game is live.
Methodology
Each character is scored on three pre-launch-knowable criteria:
- Information density — how much first-party material confirms their role, kit, and identity
- Design distinctiveness — how unique their kit reads compared with existing action-gacha archetypes
- Visibility in marketing — how often they appear in trailers and official material
We rebuild this list when:
- A new closed/open beta drops public footage
- Official kit reveals are published
- A new playable character is confirmed
S Tier — Most fleshed out
These characters have confirmed roles, factions, and signature mechanics in first-party material. They are the safest characters to research now if you want to plan a starter team.
Taffy — Delivery Rider
Why S: Confirmed signature kit (transforming bike that doubles as weapon), strong civilian-role identity, prominent in marketing as a mobility/DPS hybrid. Traversal-combat fusion is one of ANANTA’s most distinctive design pillars and Taffy embodies it.
Richie — Cybernetic Officer
Why S: Confirmed cyber-arms kit and a unique “arrest system” mechanic distinct from standard combo damage. The control/bruiser positioning is rare in action gacha and signals a specific niche role.
Seymour — Drone Hacker
Why S: Confirmed drone-based kit focused on tracking and infiltration. Non-frontline support archetypes are scarce in this genre, and his identity is well-defined in public material.
Captain — Player Avatar
Why S: Customisable protagonist with both male and female variants confirmed by NetEase. Story-acquired (non-gacha) means every player gets them, which automatically makes them relevant to all team comps. Acquisition path matters as much as kit pre-launch.
A Tier — Confirmed but waiting on details
These characters are confirmed playable, named in official material, and visible in trailers — but their roles, weapons, and elements have not yet been disclosed in detail. They are likely to graduate to S tier as kit information drops.
How this list will evolve
Watch for these triggers — each one moves characters between tiers:
| Event | Effect |
|---|---|
| Official kit reveal trailer | A-tier characters can move to S |
| Closed beta gameplay leak | Provisional B/C tiers can be added based on observed kit |
| Day-one launch | Tier list is rebuilt around real damage, scaling, and synergy data |
| Patch / banner rotations | Recurring updates post-launch (meta tiers) |

FAQ
Why no damage rankings? Because no one outside Naked Rain has them. Any pre-launch tier list claiming “DPS rankings” is fabricated. We would rather be useful than viral.
Will this become a real meta tier list at launch? Yes. On launch day we rebuild this page around observed damage, team synergy, and rotation viability. The URL stays the same so existing links keep working.
How often will this update?
Whenever a new official kit reveal or beta drops public information. We log every change in the page’s updatedAt field.
